Proposals read like a scope of work, not an invoice. The words come from three places, and you only write them once.
What you do, for each service
Open a rate set → a surface (or an add-on) → Proposal description. This is the paragraph under that service in Scope of Work, followed by the areas it covers. Preflight's standard wording is there until you edit it. Upholstery has its own description under the upholstery rates.
Company-wide wording
Settings → Company Profile & Logo → Proposal Wording (in the app and on the office web page). Each box shows Preflight's standard wording until you change it, so you can see exactly what you're changing; Back to the standard wording undoes it.
Opening paragraph — these fill in for each proposal:
[first name] — the first name of the contact the proposal is addressed to (the decision maker, unless you pick someone else). "Hi [first name]," reads "Hi Shari,". Titles stay: "Dr. Lee". With no contact it reads "Hi there,".
[contact] — their full name.
[customer] — the business name, e.g. "…to care for Wildflower OBGYN."
Example: Hi [first name], thank you for the opportunity to care for [customer]. Below is the work we recommend…
How to prepare — access, parking, what to pick up, staying off damp carpet.
Not included — heavy furniture, areas not listed, permanent stains and damage.
On one estimate
Each estimate can change its own copy of these three without changing your standard wording.
