Promo codes and employee perk codes
Promo codes
Settings → Promo Codes (also on the office web page).
- Add a Promo Code — the code (letters and numbers, like SPRING20), percent off or dollar amount off, and who it's for: everyone, residential only or commercial only.
- Optional: a description (printed under the discount) and an end date. Turn a code off any time with Active.
Using a code on an estimate
On the estimate (app or web), type the code under Promo Code and tap Apply.
- One code per estimate.
- It comes off the services and extra charges — not travel or sales tax.
- Your service minimum still applies: a $150 job with 20% off is $120, then raised to your $200 minimum.
- The proposal shows a Promo SPRING20 (20% off) line, and QuickBooks gets it as a discount line on the invoice.
- A sent proposal keeps its discount even if you change the code later.
Employee & customer perk codes
A perk code is a benefit you give a commercial customer to pass on to their employees or customers — for example, 15% off home carpet cleaning for everyone who works at Acme Dental.
- Set the default in Settings → Promo Codes → Employee & Customer Perk Codes: what perk codes give (e.g. 15% off, residential only) and the sentence printed on proposals. [code], [off] and [company] are filled in.
- Make one on the commercial customer's screen: Make a Perk Code. It suggests a code from their name (ACMEDENTAL15) — change it to anything you like.
- With Print the customer's perk code on commercial proposals on, their proposals end with a perk box: Employee & customer perk: share code ACMEDENTAL15 for 15% off residential cleaning with Zerorez Boise.
- When one of their employees calls, type the code on that job's estimate.
