Estimating

The proposal

The proposal reads like a scope of work, not an invoice.

What's in it

  1. Your letterhead, the date, and who it's prepared for.
  2. The opening paragraph.
  3. Scope of Work — each service, what you do, and the areas it covers, plus room notes marked Customer.
  4. Investment — each line, extra charges, travel, the minimum line if you use one, and the total.
  5. Maintenance Plan, if there is one.
  6. The floor plan of the rooms being cleaned.
  7. The photos you chose.
  8. How to Prepare, Not Included, Terms.
  9. Acceptance — signature, printed name, date.
  10. A footer on every page: "Prepared for … by … — confidential".
